I have ridden off and on for several years, always afraid of my horse losing it or losing me! My wife suggested a horse trainer, Eddie Ray Cantrell for our horses. I resisted thinking that a John Lyons Certified Horseman would snicker at my inexperience and humiliate me in front of her. Well, he came for a clinic and expertly trained me, not the horse, and gave me the base to train my own horse. From basic proper fitting of tack to how to mount, to trailer loading and how to ride, and he did all this without condescension. My transformation after a few days was remarkable. I have respect for the horse, not fear. I relish the time I spend with my horse--growing together.
